New Paragraph

POSTED 15th SEPTEMBER 2025

Last week, we were working on kihons in karate and Boxing Drill 1 in kickboxing. Kihons are the basic techniques in karate — punches, kicks, blocks, and stances — and they’re the foundation for everything we do. Practicing these helps improve form, focus, and overall skill. You can find all the drills from last week on our YouTube channel. I hope you're enjoying our YouTube Shorts — and finding them funny!

The Burnett Academy Presentation is in November, and we’ll be giving out medals to students who have been training for 5, 10, or 15 years.

If you’ve reached one of these milestones, let us know so we can order the correct medal for you.

It’s been great seeing everyone back in class now that schools are back on. Joash and I are also back in schools — if you’d like us to come and teach karate at your child’s school, we have letters you can give to the right person.

We also want to remind everyone that failing a belt in martial arts is not a bad thing. It’s part of the learning process.

Sometimes you don’t pass the first time — and that’s okay! It shows where you need to improve, and it gives you a chance to come back stronger.

What matters most is persistence, effort, and a positive attitude.

Well done to all the Students of the Day last week — keep up the good work!

Remember, if you see one of our posts on Facebook or Instagram, like, comment, and share — it really helps!

Many thanks,

Jamie, Joash and Harry
